Plain-English summary
  • SeaDrillMate is a business (B2B) service run by SimpliMar Pte. Ltd. (www.seadrillmate.com) for shipping companies — not a consumer app, even though your crew use it personally.
  • Pricing is US$49 per vessel per month or US$490 per vessel per year, billed on this website. The mobile app itself is always free and never sells anything.
  • The 30-day pilot needs no card and never auto-charges. If you don't convert, your account simply goes read-only — nothing is deleted.
  • A failed payment gets a 14-day grace period with reminders before the account goes read-only. Cancelling stops future billing but never deletes past training records.
  • SeaDrillMate supplements your statutory drills — it does not replace them. Your company remains responsible for SOLAS/ISM Code compliance.

1 Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between SimpliMar Pte. Ltd. ("SimpliMar", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Singapore, and the shipping company or organization that requests a pilot, subscribes to, or otherwise uses SeaDrillMate ("you", "your", "the Company"). By requesting a pilot, starting a subscription, or letting your crew use the SeaDrillMate app, you accept these Terms on behalf of your organization.

SeaDrillMate is provided for business use by shipping companies and their crew. It is not intended for personal, consumer use outside that context.

2 The 30-day pilot

We may provision a pilot for one vessel (more on request) for 30 days, at no cost and without collecting payment details. During the pilot you get full access to the features included in a paid subscription.

A pilot never converts to a paid subscription automatically. If you don't convert before it ends, the company account becomes read-only under Section 5 — we'll ask before any charge is ever made. We may extend, shorten, or decline a pilot at our discretion, including if the fleet or vessel type falls outside what we currently support.

3 Subscriptions & pricing

Subscriptions are licensed per vessel, at US$49 per vessel per month or US$490 per vessel per year (billed upfront), plus any tax required by law. The number of vessels you're billed for is the number of vessels licensed on your account; adding a vessel increases your subscription quantity going forward.

Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. All billing happens on seadrillmate.com through our payment processor, Stripe — never inside the mobile app.

Prices may change for future billing periods; we'll give active subscribers at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change takes effect for them.

4 Payment & refunds

Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number. If your first payment doesn't work out, contact onboarding@seadrillmate.com within 14 days of that payment for a full refund. Beyond that window, we don't provide pro-rata refunds for partial months or unused months of an annual plan, except where required by law. Fleets that prefer to pay by invoice can contact onboarding@seadrillmate.com to arrange it.

5 Failed payments & suspension

If a payment fails, your account moves to a 14-day grace period during which access continues in full and we'll email your billing contact to update the payment method. If payment still hasn't succeeded after 14 days, the account becomes read-only: existing training records, scores, and challenge history remain fully intact and visible, but new challenges, quizzes, and AI generation are paused until the account is reactivated.

We never delete your data for non-payment. Training records are retained as audit evidence for as long as the account exists, whatever its billing status.

6 Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time through the Customer Portal linked from this website. Cancelling stops future renewals — your subscription (and full access) continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, then the account becomes read-only as described in Section 5. Cancelling never deletes past training records.

7 The mobile app is free

The SeaDrillMate app is free to download and contains no purchases, ads, or upsells. It is login-only: a crew member gets access by accepting an invitation or entering a vessel join code issued by their Captain or company after a subscription or pilot exists. All commercial activity — pilots, checkout, billing management — happens on this website, by design.

8 Accounts, roles & responsibilities

Your Company designates who holds each role (Captain, officer, crew, company admin) and is responsible for keeping that assignment accurate — including deactivating crew who leave a vessel. A Captain manages their vessel's challenges, questions, and crew invitations; the Company is responsible for what its Captains publish. Everyone using SeaDrillMate must keep their own login credentials confidential and not share an account between people.

9 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use SeaDrillMate for any purpose that's unlawful, or that infringes another party's rights.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the app, the website, or the systems behind them.
  • Circumvent per-vessel licensing, rate limits, or role-based access controls.
  • Upload content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate for a shared crew training environment.

We may suspend access for a clear breach of this section, and will tell your admin contact why.

10 AI-generated content & fair use

The AI quiz assistant is available to active Captains, subject to fair-use limits — currently 20 question-generation requests and 5 infographic-generation requests per Captain, per rolling hour — to keep the service fast and cost-sane for everyone. We may adjust these limits.

AI-generated questions, answers, explanations, and infographics are drafts, not verified facts. The app requires a Captain to review and can require explicit confirmation that a generated infographic doesn't reveal an answer before anything AI-generated can be published to crew. Your Company is responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before it reaches your crew, the same as any other content a Captain publishes.

11 Not a substitute for mandatory drills

SeaDrillMate is a training and engagement tool that supplements your vessel's safety training program. It does not replace statutory drills, musters, or any requirement under SOLAS, the ISM Code, flag-state regulation, or your own safety management system. Your Company remains solely responsible for complying with all applicable maritime safety and training regulations, whether or not you use SeaDrillMate.

12 Your content & data

You (or your Captains and crew) own the questions, challenges, and other content your Company creates in the app ("Your Content"). You grant SimpliMar a license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the service to you. SimpliMar and its licensors own the SeaDrillMate app, website, and underlying software, and nothing in these Terms transfers that ownership to you.

How we collect, use, and protect personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

13 Warranties & disclaimers

SeaDrillMate is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it satisfies any specific regulatory or audit requirement on its own — see Section 11.

14 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SimpliMar's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the fees your Company paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

15 Indemnification

Your Company agrees to indemnify and hold SimpliMar harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.

16 Term & termination

These Terms apply for as long as your Company has a pilot or subscription with us. Either party may terminate as described in Sections 2 and 6. We may also terminate or suspend access for a material breach of these Terms that isn't fixed within a reasonable period after we notify you. On termination, access ends, but your data is retained as described in Section 5 and our Privacy Policy; you can request an export of Your Content by contacting onboarding@seadrillmate.com within 30 days of termination.

17 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the change here with a new "last updated" date, and email your Company's admin or billing contact before any material change takes effect for an active subscription.

18 Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

19 Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and SimpliMar regarding SeaDrillMate. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. A failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control.
